Privacy Policy
KeepKindly helps you make decisions about your space. Your room notes, item details, and photos stay in the app on your iPhone, and the app sends only a small set of basic events for product analytics.
At a glance
- No KeepKindly account is needed. We do not run a server that stores your rooms, items, or photos.
- Your room photos, room vision, item names, notes, and the prices you enter are never sent to Google Analytics.
- Basic app-use analytics are on by default in the US version. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings at any time.
- iCloud sync is not part of this version. Your app data stays on your device and in your own device backups.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data for personalized advertising.
Information you keep in the app
You may enter room names and goals, photos, self-ratings, item decisions, resale details, wait-list entries, estimated prices, and optional reflections after getting something. This content is stored in app-managed storage on your device and may be included in your device backups according to your Apple settings. When you add a photo, the app saves a copy without its location and camera details.
The optional shopping pause uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks. If you choose apps or websites to pause on, Apple gives KeepKindly opaque tokens for them; the app keeps those tokens on your device and cannot read the names of what you picked. If you use the share sheet (“Should I get this?”), KeepKindly does not read or keep the page or text you shared; it records only the pause and anything you choose to type.
App-use analytics
KeepKindly uses Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4) to learn whether the app works. Collection is on by default for the US beta. The app sends a short, fixed list of events: onboarding steps completed, a first or completed session (with its length and a rough count of decisions), the type of each decision (keep, donate, sell, recycle, trash), an item physically leaving your home (and how), a sell-deadline choice, a pause opened and its general outcome, a wait-list outcome, a progress photo added (not the photo), and a room goal reached. We do not send your free text, photos, item names, room names, shopping links, store or app names, the amounts you enter, or any account ID.
The Google Analytics SDK also collects some information on its own, such as a random app-installation identifier, basic events like the app being opened or updated, device model and OS version, app version, and approximate location derived from the network. This is pseudonymous analytics, not anonymous data. We configure the app without the advertising identifier and without the vendor identifier, with ad personalization signals off and automatic screen reporting off, and we do not connect GA4 to advertising products. Google’s processing is described in its own policies.
Turn off analytics at KeepKindly › Settings › Help improve KeepKindly. It stops collection right away and stays off after restarts. Turning it off, or deleting your data in the app, does not remove events already sent. The GA4 property keeps event-level data for 2 months. Subscriptions, Wallet check-ins, and notifications
If you subscribe to KeepKindly Plus, Apple handles payment and billing. KeepKindly learns only whether your subscription is active; we never receive your payment card details.
An optional Shortcuts automation that you set up yourself can open a blank check-in after a Wallet tap. KeepKindly does not receive your transaction, merchant, amount, or bank information.
If you allow notifications, KeepKindly schedules local reminders on your device, for example when a wait-list item is ready for a check-in. Notification text does not include item names, rooms, or prices.
Support messages
If you use the contact form, we receive what you type, the topic you pick, and the email address you give us for a reply, if you choose to give one. Messages are stored with our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services) and forwarded privately to our team so we can respond. Please do not include room photos, medical details, or item lists unless they are needed to resolve your request. We keep support messages for 12 months, unless a longer period is needed for a legitimate dispute or legal obligation.
Your choices, export, and deletion
In Settings › Export my data you can save a copy of your rooms, records, and photos. The export file is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. Settings › Delete my data removes the app’s records, photos, reminders, and Screen Time selections from this device. Analytics has its own switch, described above. For anything else, use the contact form and we will explain what we hold and what can be removed.
Who the app is for
KeepKindly is designed for adults. It is a self-help organizing tool and does not diagnose or treat any medical condition. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, let us know so we can delete it.
